A Sweet Indiana Scavenger Hunt

Looking for a fun filled family clue solving adventure around Indiana?

Check out Explore: A Clue Solving Adventure written by Michele Stucky.

Michele Stucky is a 7th and 8th grade science teacher and has been teaching for 14 years. She created this book by combining all the things she loves to do. “I love to travel, see as much as I can, and spend as little money as possible. I like to participate in all kind of competitions. I enjoy solving riddles and figuring out clues. This book combines all of these things.”

This book is a guide to the cities of Indiana. There are 245 clues, organized by city, in hint or cipher form about places to visit in Indiana.  By solving the clues, a family creates a possible itinerary of what to see when visiting that destination.  Students could also solve the clues in class and go on a "virtual trip." There are many ways to use this book of over 240 clues. Celebrate Indiana's Bicentennial by visiting as many of the cities as possible. This is a great family activity that everyone will enjoy!

Our 240sweet Studio is featured in the book! Michele picked us because our shop is unique. “I think your shop is very unique. Not that many places that I know of specialize in making marshmallows.  I think the name is unique in that the temperature the sugar is heated to is in the name of the shop.  I like that people can sign up for marshmallow making classes.  As a science teacher, there is a great deal of science that goes into the process.”

What is your favorite marshmallow?

Nutella....but I like anything sweet!

How do you enjoy marshmallows?

In honor of Read across America week (March 2nd)......I like marshmallows in a box, with a fox, in a house, with a mouse, I like marshmallows here or there, I love marshmallows anywhere.

Where is the coolest spot you’ve eaten a marshmallow?

The coolest spot I have eaten a marshmallow was when I roasted one (okay...who am I kidding...I roasted about 8) over a hot volcanic vent when I climbed the Pacaya volcano in Guatemala.
